A beachcomber on Florida’s Pompano Beach happened upon an unusual object… a softball sized eyeball!
Gino Covacci, the citizen who found the giant eye reported the find to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. There, spokesperson Carli Segelson said that scientists will use genetic testing to figure out what type of sea creature the eye belongs to.
So what does it belong to? A giant squid? A new species of sea monster? Or could it be a hoax?
Segelson said, “The primary suspect right now is that it would be a large fish, such as a swordfish, tuna, or deep-water fish.”
