President Obama’s 2008 Campaign Pilot’s UFO Sighting

Brontosaurus 2.0

The Brontosaurus is back! Although most probably never knew it was gone. Brontosaurus excelsus (meaning “thunder lizard”) was discovered and named in 1879, only to be reclassified in 1903 when paleontologists decided that the species had so many similarities to the already existing Apatosaurus genus, they concluded the excelsus species should be reclassified as Apatosaurus excelsus. Brontosaurus was no more. Officially, that is. However, Brontosaurus remained in the public eye and popular culture. Ancient Lake on Mars Could Have Supported Life

NASA’s Curiosity rover has uncovered evidence that a Martian lake that existed long ago could have supported life. It is estimated that the freshwater lake existed on the Red Planet about 3.7 billion years ago. Curiosity’s lead scientist John Grotzinger says, “Quite honestly, it just looks very Earth-like… You’ve got an alluvial fan, which is being fed by streams that originate in mountains, that accumulates a body of water.” The lake is positioned in a small area of Gale Crater, which the Curiosity Rover has been exploring since touching down on Mars in August 2012. The ancient lake would...

NASA’s MAVEN Mission Rockets Toward Mars

MAVEN, which stands for Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution, was launched on an Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral in Florida at 1:28 pm local time, Monday, November 18, 2013. Sporting a price tag of $671 million, MAVEN will reach our neighboring planet approximately 10 months. Once there, MAVEN will not land, but stay orbiting the Red Planet to study its upper atmosphere. Evidence suggests that Mars previously held a thick atmosphere that was capable of supporting liquid water on the planet’s surface. Scientists want to understand why that is no longer the case. During the 10 month long...
